The Meemure region consists of five villages. Our campsite is in Karambaketiya, the first village we encounter along the way. The campsite is isolated and located in the middle of the wilderness except for only three houses. So the guests can stay the night without interruptions. Meemure has only a few stores and Karambaketiya “Kade” (store) comes in handy even when we need to buy anything quickly due to a lack of signal. As the highest settlement in the Meemure region, at an elevation of almost 650m above sea level, it has a pleasant climate throughout the year. The campgrounds can accommodate up to fifty people and include ample toilet facilities, power, and the ability to make a fire and even sing in the rain. Both the youth and elderly alike have enjoyed their stays at the campsite during its seven years (as of 2022) of operations.
