The 'Wedilunu' Cave, also known as Nitro Cave, is located in another picturesque village hidden among Meemure's five villages. Access to this cave is another official trail in the Knuckles range, ascending three kilometers. Traveling during the rainy season is risky since the ‘Na Ela’ can overflow. We offer safety equipment, necessary guidance, historical background knowledge, and flora and fauna knowledge. The cave, which stored gunpowder during King Ravana's reign, is thought to be used as a transportation hub during the Kandyan period. Although the popular Sinhala folklore poem "Inne dumbarai maha kalu galak yata" was said to be a mine poem, the Dumbara Valley is devoid of mines. The alternative theory is that the banished Kandyans had a wretched life here and supplied ammunition to the monarch from here.
